Obsidian
Read and write notes in an Obsidian vault — your second brain, AI-accessible.
Install
Add this command to your MCP client config to connect Obsidian.
uvx mcp-obsidianAbout Obsidian
The Obsidian MCP server connects to a local Obsidian vault (via the Local REST API plugin) and exposes note CRUD, search, and tag operations.
The win is using the assistant against your actual personal knowledge base: "what have I written about systems thinking" returns actual notes, not generic web search. Pair with the fetch server for "read this article and write a note in my Obsidian vault summarizing it" workflows.
Setup is mildly fiddly because of the plugin requirement, but it is a one-time thing.
